Monocle has been submitted to the Clay.io Got Game? student competition! Over the next two weeks, the games will be judged based on three criteria, which taken from the competition website, are:

  1. Number of Views: The number of views (plays) your game receives in the two week period following submission will account for 1/3 of the overall ranking. Games will be ranked from most-played to least-played.
  2. User Ratings: Submitted games will be open for user ratings. Users can rate your game from 1 to 5 stars. Games will be ranked from highest rated to lowest rated – accounting for 1/3 of overall ranking.
  3. Celebrity Judges: Submitted games will be judged by the Clay.io team, and our 6 celebrity judges (veterans from the gaming industry). Games will be ranked and will account for 1/3 of the overall ranking.

So, I would really appreciate people giving the game a shot! It’s not very long, but the impression I get from the people I’ve showed the game to is that it’s actually pretty fun. I was under a pretty tight deadline due to my rather hectic schedule, but managed to do all the design, programming and art! The music was taken from the fantastic Kevin MacLeod, which I encourage people to check out if they are ever in need of music for their games.

To Vote

  1. Head over to http://monoclegame.clay.io
  2. Play the game
  3. Rate the game (you should see a scale of 1-5 stars)

I’ll be adding more information, gameplay videos and promo items over the next couple of days. I’m quite tied up with some school work at the moment, so things won’t come immediately. Meanwhile, have fun, and thanks for reading!
